.........

Alex has been making a good recovery. I don't know who was more pleased, when Ryan, Granny and Grandad came to visit!
Despite a bad night, when the morphine drip and IV feed caused his arm to swell massively and had to be removed, this afternoon he sat up and started 'chatting' away. By the time his visitors arrived, he was looking more like his old self. It was lovely for us to see Ryan after 3 days apart.

All's Well...

Today was a very long day. At 6 this morning, after a noisy night on the ward, Helen was told Alex's operation could not go ahead because there were no free beds in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She was not amused and made her views known!
The staff agreed to let us wait around in case something could be done.....and around 1:30pm we suddenly got the go-ahead, and he was taken down to theatre. At about 7:40pm we finally got word that all had gone well and he was in recovery, and by 8pm we were able to see him in the PICU. He actually opened his eyes and registered we were there, despite being heavily sedated with morphine.
I left him an hour ago, sleeping peacefully and breathing without a ventilator. Hopefully he will be down on the ward with Helen tomorrow morning where the recovery begins.
What a result! A day that started so stressfully ends on a much more optimistic note.
Phew!

I Love the FA Cup

Ryan and I had a cracking day out, visiting St Mary's to watch Southampton beat Leicester 2-0.
