Susan and Karen - mother and sister of the bride. We were in North Wales on St George's day, for the wedding of Mark to Sian, Helen's cousin. More photos here. A good time was had by all, including Ryan, who got to play football with men in suits balancing pints in one hand. He came home with a real leather Welsh FA football, courtesy of the Welsh ladies football team, who were staying at the hotel. They played a world cup qualifier against Estonia the next day in Rhyl, drawing 0-0.

Elephant Talk

Easter Day. Ryan mucks about with the tube thing that my mum bought him - its proper name is the Karruga horn and it can play 5 different notes! So you could play a tune by varying the speed at which you swing theory that is. Ryan’s elephant impression reminds me of one of my favourite sayings - “ Trunkie want a bun?” It is used to chastise a person caught eavesdropping. Maybe it’s all those buns that are making Helen’s tummy so big?

Prospero looks

We took Ryan to Zippo’s Circus on Blackheath this afternoon. His favourite bits were the budgie act, and getting his light-ball-wand-thingy. A friend took me to Zippo’s about 15 years ago and I had really enjoyed it - BMX riders and skateboarders performing instead of animals. This time Helen and I weren’t very impressed though. It all seemed a bit shabby, but then we had watched Cirque Du Soleil’s show “Alegria” on dvd the night before, so I suppose we had been spoilt.
